Mining Rules & Etiquette

A simple set of rules and good practices to keep moon mining fair, efficient and enjoyable for everyone.

◆

Newest Moons

Core rules for the latest scheduled moon belts
1

Look Before you laser

Don’t mine someone else’s rock. If it happens, expect a polite reminder—mistakes happen, be kind.

2

Ship Limit: 5 ships mining per person

The center booster Orca is independent from your mining ships. Therefor if you are the center booster, you may have 5 mining ships.

3

Rock Limit: 2 rocks per ship, up to 6 rocks total per person.

You’re free to cross mine within your limit.

4

Give others room to mine.

Try to keep ~30km between yourself and nearby miners to reduce crowding.

5

Keep your ships grouped together.

Your mining ships must be stacked together within a 5km range. (imagine a 5km bubble if that helps, 2.5km from the centre of the bubble each way)

6

Join the fleet when mining

Being in fleet ensures you benefit from boosts, stay coordinated, and helps us all work as a team.

7

Use Low Wastage Mining Equipment

T1, T2 Strip miners with A Crystals or ORE Strip miners (when not being ganked).

  • B crystals are allowed under the condition that mining efficiency boosts are up and a chipset is equipped.
  • Abyssal rolled modules/drones must have equal or lower wastage than the unrolled module/drone.
Everyone benefits from more ore when we’re mining smart.
✦

Glistening Moons

Special limits for high-value glistening moon belts
1

3 Ships Max Per Person

Each ship may mine one (1) rock each. Up to a maximum of 3 rocks.

This means; if you have two ships, you may mine 2 rocks at once, or if you have 1 ship, you may mine 1 rock.

Drones are also included in this rock limit. Your drones may not mine an additional rock.

◐

Older Moons

Relaxed rules once the next scheduled moon belt appears

Any moon ore field that still exists when the next scheduled new moon belt appears, rules are relaxed to encorage the old moon to be empted.

1

Look Before you laser

Don’t mine someone else’s rock. If it happens, expect a polite reminder—mistakes happen, be kind.

2

Give others room to mine.

Try to keep ~30km between yourself and nearby miners to reduce crowding.

3

Join the fleet when mining

Being in fleet ensures you benefit from boosts, stay coordinated, and helps us all work as a team.

4

All Other rules are Redacted

  • You may mine with as many ships as you wish.
  • You can mine as many rocks as you wish.
  • You can place your ships anywhere.
  • You can use any crystal or drones as you wish.
  • You may mine both Latest and Old moons at the same time.

Orca & Boosting Rules

Rules covering dedicated booster Orcas and mining Orcas
1

Dedicated Central Booster Orca

The dedicated central booster Orca is excluded from all normal mining rules and is treated as an independent support ship. There may only be one dedicated central booster at any time.

It may mine a smaller rock to help complete the daily 2,000 m³ objective, or simply to help offset the cost of providing boosts.

2

Mining Orcas

Any Orca being used for mining is considered a mining ship and must follow the same rules that apply to normal mining ships.

✓

Etiquette & Good Practice

These aren’t hard rules, but following them helps keep things smooth for the whole corp.
1

Try to finish what you start.

If you start mining a rock, aim to finish it.

2

Be thoughtful around downtime.

Avoid warping off just before downtime to grab a better spot when the server comes back up.

Please use tempory bookmarks to identify rocks you are returning to. See Rule 8 below.

3

Respect salvage and wreck ownership.

If someone killed it, it’s theirs. If wrecks sit untouched for 10–15 minutes, they’re fair game—but don’t send drones after salvage someone is actively collecting. Sansha spawns and ore haulers belong to their killers.

4

Use MTUs responsibly.

They’re handy, but don’t leave them AFK on the field where they cause issues. If left unattended and they’re in the way, they may be removed and reimbursed. A tractor beam on your ship is often the better choice.

5

Do not engage with hostiles and gankers in local

This only encourages them to stay for longer.

6

Boost others from your fleet if you can — one central booster allowed.

It is expected that anyone who can boost should work together to ensure the entire belt is covered.

Most pilots should boost from their own fleet group. Usually this will be enough, however we allow a single central booster to cover the entire field.

This should be the best-qualified booster to support everyone—ideally someone with full-range “big four” boosts (Shield + Waste reduction + Mining Range + Mining Cycle Time). They can position centrally, away from their own barges.

7

Ore Logistics

Players may bring additional ships into the belt, including orcas, transport or defence ships, so long as they do not mine.

8

Rock Tagging is encouraged

Miners are encouraged to tag rocks they are moving to, or are returning to, however this should not be used to reserve future rocks.

If a tagged rock is not mined within 5 minutes, it is considered free for anyone else to mine.

Over downtime, bookmarks with your name may be used to mark your rocks. If no one has returned within 15m of downtime ending, these bookmarks can be removed.

During Times of Duress

Temporary safety measures during wars or periods of increased ganker activity

When we’re at war or facing ganker threats, we reserve the right to temporarily tighten things up for everyone’s safety.

1

Tanky fits may be required.

You might be asked to swap to defensive fits to make everyone less appealing as targets. We understand that not everyone has the skills, we can work with people individually to reduce risk.

2

High-value modules may be restricted.

This includes things like ORE Strip Miners—removing them helps reduce risk.

3

Stay together and alert.

Operating in fleets and sharing intel makes us safer and more resilient.

These measures are temporary and only used when necessary. Once the situation improves, things will return to normal.

For more information on Tank fits, please see the relevant section on our website.
